My One Year Blogoversary!

My blog is officially One Year Old today! I am hugely proud of myself as I was not sure I would last this long, but I found a niche in book blogging that I didn't know I had until this past year. I originally started up my blog with the idea of it being part journal / part mommy blog. Then I started discovering book blogs and realized I had much more to say about books than anything else. I was a bookworm before I was anything else in my life, and books are where I have always turned for everything - be it education, God, entertainment, or comfort. Then I realized people would send me books for free - even to this tiny, middle-of-nowhere town - in exchange for a review, and I knew there was no turning back on this book blogging idea. I determined I was in it for good, and I don't plan on stopping for a very long time.

Sooooo... I am not financially-endowed enough to do any fancy book giveaway as celebration of this momentous occasion, but I have been tossing around the idea of remodeling my blog and renaming it "JacobsBeloved's Books." I may even get my own domain - if hubby is generous - to go along with this idea. This would mean a new header and blog button, as well as changing my layout and color scheme - I'm thinking icy colors like lavender and light blue, so I can keep my blue rose rating system. I know lots of blogs in the blogosphere pay designers to do all this work for them, but I like the challenge and I like teaching myself how to manipulate HTML and graphics programs. Hopefully, by the new year I will have all of this ready to launch.
