2011 Reading Challenge: Strong Heroine

I read quite a bit of fiction that features a female as the main character, so when I discovered the Strong Heroine Reading Challenge hosted by Jamie at The Book Junkie's Bookshelf, I knew that would be an excellent choice for me to participate in for 2011.
