A Story of Books and a Giveaway!

Piled on top of my dining table in fairly neat, alphabetical order (by authors' last name, of course) are all of the books my dear, sweet, thoughtful husband found piled in the middle of our apartment building, where the landlord left them after some forgetful ex-booklover abandoned them to be hauled to the dumpster. I could not bear the thought of the fate all of these poor books would suffer if we did not rescue them before the landlord could complete his diabolical mission (fire hazard, shmire hazard), and hubby knew it, so he dragged all of the boxes and trashbags into our tiny apartment for us to sort, giving better homes to each and every one of them.  After I snapped about a dozen pictures, I picked the ones I wanted to keep, followed by my husband doing the same, then I invited my best friend over to pick her share, filling a large box that her husband had to come pick up for her, before I finally packed the rest into four boxes for charity. *Phew*

So what does this have to do with a drawing for a $35 CSNStores.com gift certificate giveaway? Not a thing, just thought I'd share a story about books!

How could anyone abandon their books like that? I shudder to think! What a find for you though...wow!

Thanks for the giveaway!

I can't believe someone could leave on those books behind! But I've gotten books from freecycle that were like that. Someone left them behind, so someone else gave them away on freecycle. It was like 400 books too! A LOT of sorting! Enjoy all your books though and thanks for the giveaway!
